INDOT, KYTC and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) recognize the value of public outreach in the transportation decision-making process for the Sherman Minton Renewal. The Community Advisory Committee represents a diverse group of individuals from both sides of the river who provide valuable input throughout the environmental process.

Environmental Justice (EJ) ensures the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or income. The EJ committees have assisted the Project Team in identifying and addressing potential disproportionately high and adverse effects on minority or low-income populations, and assures there is equitable distribution of benefits and burdens of the project.
