Short-term restrictions scheduled next week for final inspection on Sherman Minton bridge

Final Inspection activities for the Sherman Minton Renewal project are scheduled to begin on or after Tuesday, January 21.

To accommodate the final inspection, short-term, single-lane restrictions will be necessary on eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 64 (both decks) to allow safe access to the bridge. Inspection activities are anticipated to occur daily from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, January 24, depending on weather conditions. Lane restrictions may alternate from left to right lanes depending on where access is required. All ramps will remain open during inspection activities.

Restrictions may or may not be in effect for the entire period noted. Motorists should slow down, drive distraction-free and be aware of changing traffic patterns.  Delays are expected while work is in progress and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible.

If inspection activities must be rescheduled due to weather or other circumstances, lane restrictions will occur the week of Monday, January 27.
