Update: I-265 Interchange Ramp Restriction Schedule

With forecasted rain this week, remaining pavement striping operations at the I-265 interchanges with I-65 and I-64 are postponed until next week. The Sherman Minton bridge will remain open during ramp restrictions. The new schedule for ramp closures will be as follows, weather permitting:

  • I-64 westbound ramp to I-265 eastbound closed beginning at or after 9 p.m. on Monday, September 30, until Tuesday, October 1, at 6 a.m.
  • Spring Street ramp to I-64 westbound closed beginning at or after 9 p.m. on Monday, September 30, until Tuesday, October 1, at 6 a.m.
  • I-265 eastbound ramp to I-65 southbound closed beginning at or after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, until Wednesday, October 2, at 6 a.m.
  • I-265 eastbound ramp to I-65 northbound closed beginning at or after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, until Wednesday, October 2, at 6 a.m.  This closure will not occur until the I-265 eastbound ramp to I-65 southbound has reopened.
  • Rolling roadblocks will be in place for all ramps noted above to install rumble strips and reflectors along each ramp.  Rolling roadblocks will occur one at a time and will be in effect for the following dates:
    • Beginning at or after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, until 6 a.m. Thursday, October 3.
    • Beginning at or after 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, until 6 a.m. Friday, October 4.

These restrictions may or may not be in effect for the entire period noted. Ramp restrictions will not be implemented if weather prevents activities from occurring.  If these restrictions are delayed for any reason, a notification will be distributed identifying new times and dates. Motorists should slow down, drive distraction-free and be aware of changing traffic patterns.

Delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible.
