Phase 4

Phase 4 of the Sherman Minton Renewal project is scheduled to start on or after November 20 and last for several months. Phase 4 will include painting, deck replacement on the upper deck and any necessary steel repairs.

During Phase 4, one lane will be closed in each direction to safely allow construction work while keeping the bridge open. Two eastbound lanes and one westbound lane will be open on the bottom deck, with barrier walls used to separate traffic. One westbound lane will remain open on the top deck. Barrier walls will be in place to separate the construction zone.

Temporary crossovers will be in place in Indiana and Kentucky to allow a westbound lane of traffic to shift to the eastbound direction.
